From September 15 through October 15, we’re excited to honor Hispanic Heritage Month — a time to celebrate communities, traditions, and contributions rooted in the Latinx experience. Here’s how you can take part and support vibrant cultural events right here in Central Florida:

Why Mid‑September Matters
Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15 to honor the independence days of several Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It continues through October 15 to include regional anniversaries like Mexico (September 16) and Chile (September 18).

Apopka – 4th Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration 
Saturday, September 20 | 4 PM – 8 PM 
Kit Land Nelson Park 
Join Commissioner Tony Ortiz, live music, cultural dance, food, and a kids’ art contest celebrating Hispanic heritage. Avon covergirl Tatiana Liary takes the stage with traditional performances.

Polk County – 18th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival 
Saturday, September 20 | 10 AM – 2 PM 
Lake Gwyn Park, Winter Haven 
A lively, family-friendly fest with art activities, live music, food vendors, and cultural performances.

Orlando – Latin Festival of Performing Arts (Maitland) 
September 22–28 
Art & History Museums of Maitland
